My company builds and sells acrylic LED edge lite signs, and I'm getting requests for these signs to run off of a 12v battery source.
The requirements for the battery source are to run 8 to 10 hrs daily, current draw is about 0.5 amp, once battery is low/drained swap it out for a recharged battery and recharge the drained battery. There are many different types of rechargeable batteries on the market and I would like to know what you would recommend for this application.
Thanks
10hrs x 0.5A = 5Ah
5Ah battery at 12V is not very large and very common battery size.
If you charge those batteries indoor and never have below 0C(32F) charging conditions, you could use Li batteries. They are much lighter and little more (or sometimes much more) life time comparing to Lead Acid.
We could offer:
Small battery packs like that https://www.powerstream.com/BP-23.htm
Or stand alone battery.
Or if you wish to have your product with cheaper version Lead Acid battery:
